The recent wildfires in Canada have severely impacted air quality in large portions of the eastern United States. Major cities such as Philadelphia, New York, and Washington D.C. are experiencing some of the worst air quality readings in decades. This has raised concerns among many employers as to the health and well-being of their employees.
While we cannot control the quality of the outdoor air, there are some quick and cost-effective approaches that can be taken to help improve indoor air quality. This can include simple modifications to the building’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems or building operational practices to reduce the impacts of outdoor air pollution and enhance the comfort of building occupants.
CMI is here to help if your organization has any questions or concerns related to the impacts of the wildfires or any other IAQ issues! We are happy to speak with you to recommend value-added solutions for testing and documenting air quality conditions within your building, or for identifying practical solutions to address your unique IAQ concerns.
