The U.S. Department of Labor announced increases to the maximum penalties that can be assessed when employers are found to be in violation of OSHA regulations. These penalties will apply to all citations issued by OSHA beginning January 16, 2023. This includes employers who currently have an open inspection with OSHA. Below is a list of the updated penalty minimum and maximum limits:
